Ducere Unveils New Specialist Online MBA Programs for Future Leaders In Luxury Brand Management And Digital Health Transformation

Ducere Global Business School has teamed up with Torrens University to launch two new specialist MBA programs in 2022, targeting the luxury brand and health sectors.

The MBA in Luxury Brand Management and MBA in Digital Health Transformation will welcome their first students in February next year.

The new programs take Ducere’s suite of specialist MBAs to five including the popular MBA in Innovation and Leadership and an MBA in Data and Cyber Management.

Ducere Global Business School founder Mat Jacobson said the new MBAs were designed specifically for early-career executives looking for a highly customised program that would accelerate their career.

“Like all Ducere programs, these two new offerings apply our unique, real-world focused learning structures to two of the most exciting sectors in the economy today,” he said. “The employment market for senior executives is increasingly looking for focused skills not generic knowledge that can just be overlaid on any sector of the economy.”

The 12-month programs are offered entirely online via the Canvas learning management system and provide students with the opportunity to work on real business projects with some of the most recognisable brands in the world.

Ducere MBA in Luxury Brand Management

The bespoke MBA in Luxury Brand Management is offered through a collaboration between Ducere and Torrens University and is designed to equip students with real-world insights and specialised knowledge to lead in luxury industries such as wine, fashion, motor vehicles and travel.

Mr Jacobson said the Australian luxury market was on track to reach $3 billion by 2024 with the global luxury market worth many hundreds of billions more.

“The luxury brand sector is very different to any other product or service,” he said. “A traditional business sells products based on their specifications and features, luxury brands are about emotions and selling an experience.

“Luxury brands want their customers to have an emotional attachment to their brand and being a leader in this environment requires a very different set of skills to someone who wants to sell mainstream products.”

Ducere and Torrens have partnered with some of the biggest luxury brands in the world to develop customer content for the new MBA. Students will have the opportunity to work on projects with brands like Swarovski, Qantas, Apple, Disney, Aston Martin, and more.

Students studying the MBA are required to undertake 11 core subjects and finish with an Applied Industry Project that enables students to consolidate their knowledge, skills, and insights to develop innovative solutions to a real business problem identified within the context of a workplace, start-up or industry in their specialisation.

Ducere MBA in Digital Health Transformation

The MBA in Digital Health Transformation is designed for executives looking to take advantage of the health sector’s transition to digital technologies.

The total venture capital investment into the digital health sector in the first half of 2021 totalled $14.7 billion making it one of the world’s highest growth industries.

“When we were looking at industries that would provide our graduates with a wealth of opportunity, we couldn’t go past the health sector and the massive process of digitisation it is undergoing… it is a huge sector, that is still growing,” Mr Jacobson said.

“Health services sector is something that affects everyone in the community and there is huge opportunity for people on the frontline of improving speed, access and affordability of health services.

“Unlike any other sector, the opportunities need to be wayed against the risks, not just to people’s health but their data.”

The Ducere MBA in Digital Health Management includes 11 core subjects and an Applied Industry Project. The 100% online program does not include any exams with all assessments based on real-world assignments and an applied project.

To gain entry to the programs students are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ work experience or a high school degree and seven years of professional experience.

The programs are priced at $48,000 or $38,400 when you access Ducere scholarships of up to 20%. Students can access the Australian Government’s FEE-HELP program to assist in paying for all, or part of, the course fees.
