Australian Institute Of Business Goes Digital For Regional MBA Students
The Australian Institute of Business (AIB) has brought their MBA program onto a fully online platform, allowing students in 2018 and onward living or working in remote and regional areas the opportunity to access education at an elite level.
“Transitioning from hand-written, in-person invigilated exams has been a particularly important consideration for AIB students, as the majority maintain full-time roles while studying,” AIB CEO Paul Wappett said.
“Many also have young families at home or live regionally, which can make in-person exams challenging.
“As a product of regional Australia myself, I’m particularly passionate about providing greater access to quality higher education Australia wide,” he said.
The new online exam format takes all personal factors into consideration. With multiple exam start times to choose from over a fourteen-hour period, students can pick the time that suits their schedule best.
The functionality hopes to eliminate the possibility of students missing exams, giving regional areas across Australia the flexibility to sit the exam at a later time.
Tom Sexton, AIB MBA alumni said, “I live in the country, two and a half hours from the nearest capital city. The fact that I could complete assignments and exams from my own home was paramount.”
Cindy Hales, a School Engagement Advisor at Rio Tinto, also completed her MBA online.
“I live in a very remote part of Queensland and to have a Masters-level study that was available completely online was great.
“The support I received from the AIB team was one of the key successes in my study experience – it was really personal, timely and responsive,” Ms Hales said.
The online exams will also allow AIB to cut their previous exam fees completely, reducing the costs to students with limited options.
